Chinese national detained for attempting to smuggle Macedonian coin out of Uzbekistan

6593A citizen of the People's Republic of China was detained for attempting to smuggle an ancient coin from the era of Alexander the Great out of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the "Tashkent-AERO" specialized customs complex.
According to the report, today, July 12, at around 01:05, the staff of the border customs post at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov inspected the travel bags of a Chinese citizen, S.J., who was flying on the "Tashkent-Urumqi" route. During the inspection, it was discovered that he had an ancient coin made of white metal with an image of Macedonian, approximately dating back to the 3rd century BC, which had not been declared to customs control.
An investigation is currently underway regarding the incident.
It should be noted that earlier it was reported that in Bukhara, individuals attempting to smuggle ancient coins minted at the Yekaterinburg mint during the reign of Russian Emperor Peter I in 1751 were detained.
