A new government resolution has been adopted to improve traffic regulations, ease the burden on drivers, and address longstanding complaints. The news was announced by Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov.
According to the resolution, starting from June 1 of this year, violations related to crossing road lines will no longer be recorded using automated photo and video surveillance systems. The only exception is the stop line—designated by road marking 5.33—which will still be monitored by cameras.
In other words, if a driver crosses a lane marking, the infraction will not be automatically recorded by speed cameras or surveillance systems, and no automatic fine will be issued. However, if such a violation is directly observed by a traffic police officer, it may still be recorded and penalized in accordance with the law.
It is worth noting that a new system for evaluating traffic violations based on a points system is also set to come into force in Uzbekistan beginning June 1.
