It is planned to distribute another 50,000 hectares of land to 100,000 poor families within a year. This was announced today, September 11, during a video selector meeting on measures to reduce poverty in neighborhoods and elevate the system of working with poor families, chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Agriculture and horticulture will be organized on these lands based on the "company-cooperative-farming" principle. Through this approach, a new system of generating three types of income from the land will be established:

  • A large company producing and exporting agricultural products leases land from poor families.
  • Alternatively, landowners join a cooperative as shareholders, receive orders from companies, and the profits are shared among them.
  • In both cases, these residents cultivate produce on the land themselves and receive a monthly salary for their work.

This way, poor families can use the land more efficiently and generate income from rent or dividends, along with a regular monthly income.

Officials, together with regional governors, have been tasked with employing at least 200,000 residents as part of this initiative.
