The state of emergency in Karakalpakstan is lifted ahead of schedule

On 20 July, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree "On ending the state of emergency in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan".

By the decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 2 July 2022, "On the introduction of a state of emergency in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan" No. PF‒164, effectiveness of the state of emergency introduced in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan will be terminated from 21 July 2022 at 05:00 a.m.

This decree came into force on 21 July 21 05:00 a.m.

It is noted that the decree was adopted, taking into account the appeal of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, to terminate the state of emergency before its term and the fact that public order has been restored in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.  Also, the safety of citizens and the protection of their rights and freedoms have been ensured as a result of the measures taken.  This is in accordance with Article 11 of the constitutional law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On State of Emergency".
