Traffickers sending girls to India for prostitution arrested (video)

Two girls have been caught departing for India at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov, the Samarkand region’s Internal Affairs department reported. 

It is said that two individuals aged 41 and 31 residing in the Samarkand region’s Oqdaryo district had convinced in collusion the young girls who were struggling to earn a high income. They planned to send them to India for prostitution.  

They were detained while they were accompanying the girls aged 23 and 25 to the airport, aiming to send them to India with the help of their partners there.  

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the case under Article 135, part 2 (trafficking) of the Criminal Code by the Investigation Department under the Samarkand region’s Internal Affairs department. Investigative procedures are currently underway. 

Earlier, a 53-year-old woman was arrested at the Tashkent international airport while she was sending girls aged 31, 23, and 18 to Thailand for prostitution. A criminal case has been initiated against the woman under Article 135 of the Criminal Code.
