Uzbekistan establishes one-time allowance for released prisoners

Uzbekistan has approved a new regulation outlining the procedure for assigning and paying a one-time allowance to individuals released from penal institutions. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.

According to the regulation, the process of applying for and receiving the one-time benefit is carried out through the “E-probation” information system.

Eligible individuals must personally apply to the district or city probation departments (authorized bodies) within one month of their release from a penal institution.

Once the application is reviewed, the authorized body notifies the applicant within one business day about the decision and the commercial bank where the allowance can be collected.

The applicant may then visit any branch of the designated commercial bank within one month, presenting identification documents or a certificate confirming the completion of their sentence or exemption from punishment.

The allowance amount is set at six times the minimum wage, which currently equals 2,250,000 soums.
