11782A football match between "Lokomotiv" and "Bunyodkor" was halted due to a dispute involving an employee of the Internal Affairs Department (DIA) and a club official during the 21st round of the Uzbekistan football championship.
The second half of the match was delayed by 32 minutes from its scheduled start time. The incident began when the League commissioner, tasked with overseeing the match, had his phone confiscated by officers from the Upper Chirchik district's DIA. This led to the commissioner being taken to the internal affairs department, creating confusion about whether the game would continue.
According to the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan, a disagreement erupted between a "Bunyodkor" official and the DIA employee. Following verbal instructions from the head of the district's internal affairs department, a tow truck was dispatched to remove the VAR vehicle and the cars of match officials from the stadium parking lot. When the commissioner attempted to clarify the situation and its implications for the match, his phone was taken again, and he was accused of not complying with the legal requests of the internal affairs staff, resulting in his removal from the stadium.
After negotiations involving the league's association and leadership, the commissioner returned to the stadium; however, by that time, the referees had not proceeded with the second half of the match.
The Professional Football League announced that it would investigate the incident based on the commissioner's report. Officials from the "Dostlik" stadium, as well as representatives from both "Lokomotiv" and "Bunyodkor," are expected to provide their accounts of the events. Following this, the League plans to seek a legal evaluation of the actions taken by the internal affairs employees involved in the dispute.mak
