Father hiding behind a curtain to avoid paying alimony in Fergana (video)

A man in Fergana, who owed 30 million sums in alimony, was discovered hiding behind a curtain. The Fergana regional department of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau reported the incident.  

During an inspection carried out by state bailiffs from the Kuvasoy city department, along with officers from the Internal Affairs Directorate and neighborhood representatives, the debtor was found concealing himself in his own home. He had been evading his financial obligations for a long time, prompting authorities to send his case to court for review.  

Following a court decision, the debtor, identified as Sh.B., was found guilty under Article 47-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for evading financial support for minors or dependents. As a result, he was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention.  

Similar cases were reported last year, with individuals hiding in various places such as under bed covers in Kashkadarya, in basements in Namangan and Surkhandarya, on a chicken farm in Khorezm, in a nightclub in Fergana, at an aunt’s house in Andijan, and at a grandmother’s house in Bukhara.
