14315Effective May 15, all transport card sales offices in Tashkent will be closed, according to a report by the Toshshahartrans press service.
ATTO transport cards can still be purchased, topped up, and have tariffs applied at Uzpost communication departments (central post offices).
These services will also be available in the post offices of the Samarkand, Bukhara, Andijan, Khorezm, Namangan, Jizzakh, and Fergana regions, as well as the cities of Karshi, Termiz, and Nukus.
"Toshshahartranskhizmat" noted that for easier use of electronic payments on public transport, the ATTO mobile application can generate a virtual card that functions the same as a physical transport card.
In April of this year, more than 32.3 million transactions were made through public transport, including 13.8 million via transport cards (5.7 million with tariff cards) and 11.4 million via bank cards.
