31516Uzbekistan ranks 111th out of 154 countries in terms of minimum wage, according to a ranking published by the World Population Review.
The list highlights the annual and hourly minimum wages of countries, expressed in US dollars.
Australia tops the ranking with a minimum wage of $35,515 per year, equivalent to $17.47 per hour. New Zealand follows in second place with $33,487 per year or $16.10 per hour. Luxembourg secures third place with a minimum wage of $32,103 annually, translating to $15.43 per hour. In stark contrast, Uzbekistan’s minimum wage stands at $1,041 per year, or $0.50 per hour, placing it 111th on the list.
Among Central Asian countries, Kyrgyzstan ranks near the bottom at 148th, offering a minimum wage of just $162 per year, or $0.08 per hour. Tajikistan fares slightly better at 143rd, with a minimum wage of $265 per year, or $0.13 per hour. Kazakhstan boasts the highest minimum wage in the region, ranking 98th with $1,972 annually, or $0.95 per hour.
The country with the lowest minimum wage is Gabon, recording a meager $3 per year while its hourly rate is $1.56.
