2982The Export Agency will be reorganized as a Trade Development Company, in accordance with the requirements of the World Trade Organization. This decision was announced during a meeting on export, investment, and local industry tasks in 2024, presided over by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was reported that the export support system has undergone significant changes.
Under the new system, the Ministry of Investment will identify the most popular products in foreign markets, and intergovernmental agreements will be established to facilitate access to these markets.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will assist entrepreneurs in adapting to the requirements of new markets.
Subsidies, loans, and assistance provided by the company will be allocated based on the rating of new entrepreneurship, prioritizing exporters entering new markets with high-value-added products.
The implementation of this new system has been mandated starting from March 1.
It was also highlighted that some ambassadors and trade consultants have been successful in identifying new markets and promoting our products. For instance, exports to 13 countries decreased last year.
Over the past two years, certain countries have introduced a total of 18 tariffs and notary barriers. Additionally, high duty rates are applied by some countries for ready-made knitwear, fabric, cable, and silk.
The President emphasized, "Finding partners for our products and easing export barriers should be a priority for ambassadors and consultants in the field of trade."
In response, it was decided that specific performance indicators will be set for all ambassadors and sales consultants. Those who fail to meet their KPIs will be subject to disciplinary action.
