Import duty on some goods reduced to zero until 2025

Until 1 January 2025, the import duty on certain raw materials and semi-finished products will be applied at a zero rate.  This is stated in the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan «On measures to create additional capacities to ensure the continuity of raw material production in industrial production», adopted on 12 October this year.

Also, the requirement to pay customs fees from all participants of foreign economic activity within the customs regime «processing in the customs territory» will be abolished.

From 1 January 2023:

•    in cases where the cost of installation and commissioning services, training of personnel, and other services is not specified in the contract for the purchase and sale of equipment, it is calculated based on the market cost;

•    cancels the current treatment of the non-resident’s taxable income in the amount of 20% of the contract price for the provision of these services.
