Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov concludes paris chess tour in 8th place

The prestigious "Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour 2025" tournament held in Paris, France, has concluded. Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov secured 8th place.

In the quarterfinals, Abdusattorov faced his long-time rival, Norwegian Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, losing after two games. Despite the defeat, Abdusattorov had the chance to compete for 5th place but was bested by French grandmaster Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.

In the battle for 7th place, Abdusattorov was defeated 2-0 by Russian player Ian Nepomniachtchi, ultimately finishing in 8th place.

Abdusattorov earned $20,000 in prize money for his participation in the tournament.

Magnus Carlsen defeated American player Hikaru Nakamura in the final with a score of 1.5-0.5, taking home the top prize of $200,000.
