Mirziyoyev receives high state award from Abdullah II

A ceremony was held to award the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, with Jordan’s “An-Nahda” (“renaissance”) order within the framework of the state visit of the King of Jordan today, August 26. The country’s highest award was personally presented to the Head of State by King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

"I accept this award with great satisfaction as a worthy recognition of our joint efforts to expand multifaceted cooperation, as well as a gesture of friendship and respect towards the people of Uzbekistan, who are laying the foundations of the Third Renaissance in our country", Mirziyoyev stated.

It is noteworthy that the historic visit of the King of Jordan to Uzbekistan and the fruitful negotiations held have elevated relations between the two countries to a new level of partnership. The leaders agreed to comprehensively develop cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the contribution of King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein to Jordan’s dynamic development, the pursuit of its peace-loving foreign policy, and the enhancement of its authority and influence in the international community. The President emphasized that this high award rightfully serves as a symbol of the strong friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Jordan.

At the conclusion of his remarks, the President of Uzbekistan once again expressed gratitude to King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein for the award and wished peace, stability, and prosperity to the people of Jordan.

In recent years, President Mirziyoyev has been honored with a number of prestigious awards from neighboring and leading countries around the world. These include Kazakhstan’s “Golden Eagle” and “Friendship” orders, Kyrgyzstan’s “Danaker,” Tajikistan’s “Zarrintoj,” Russia’s “Order of Alexander Nevsky,” France’s “Legion of Honor,” Turkey’s “Republic” Order, the Supreme Order of the Turkic World, the CIS Badge of Honor, the Honorary Badge of Central Asian Leaders, among others.

It is worth noting that King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan arrived in Samarkand on a state visit on August 25. At Samarkand International Airport, he was received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Later, accompanied by the President, King Abdullah II became acquainted with the magnificent historical monuments of the ancient city of Samarkand. In the evening, the leaders also visited the “Eternal City” historical and ethnographic complex at the Samarkand International Tourism Center. The main events of the visit began with the official welcoming ceremony for the King of Jordan in Samarkand on August 26. This was followed by negotiations, after which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan adopted a joint statement on strengthening partnership relations. Within the framework of the visit, 15 bilateral documents were signed.
