5687Uzbekistan is set to launch a single dispatch service to offer emergency aid for accidents and crises, enabling automated processing of citizen calls via the short number 112. This government decision was made official on May 29.
The 112 unified dispatch service will handle emergency calls across Uzbekistan, integrating the emergency services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Health, National Agency for Social Protection, and the joint-stock company "Hududgaztaminot" into one data transmission network. This will be the sole management system for providing emergency assistance to the public.
The main objectives of the 112 unified dispatch service, as outlined in the decision, include:
- Automated reception and processing of citizen calls, offering prompt and free urgent assistance;
- Management and coordination of emergency care;
- Systematic monitoring to ensure timely aid from emergency services of ministries and agencies;
- Facilitating rapid interaction and information exchange between ministry and agency emergency services.
The 112 unified dispatch service will be rolled out in stages:
- Starting June 1, 2024, in Tashkent city and Tashkent region;
- In the Andijan, Namangan, and Fergana regions in the first half of 2024;
- By the end of 2024, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and other regions.
