19509In a distressing turn of events, an 11-year-old boy identified as N.R. has filed a formal complaint against his mother, prompting the intervention of Aliya Yunusova, the representative for children's rights. The young boy, accompanied by his grandmother, sought solace at the personal reception organized by Yunusova, after fleeing from his mother's residence. His siblings, a brother and a sister, remained behind with their mother, who tragically informed them of their father's passing.
According to the complainant's mother, who has a history of psychiatric hospitalization, a horrifying incident occurred during a card game with her own mother. Reportedly, in a fit of rage over a misplaced card, she impulsively stabbed her daughter in the chest, leaving a lasting scar. These shocking revelations highlight the disturbing nature of the domestic environment in which the child has been residing.
The 11-year-old boy has also revealed that he is unable to attend school and lacks basic reading skills. Expressing a strong desire to live with his grandmother, he further alleges that his mother consistently abuses alcohol and mistreats him.
In response to this alarming appeal, Child Rights Representative Aliya Yunusova, accompanied by relevant officials, visited the home of the child's mother, identified as F.R., on June 16th. Unfortunately, F.R. displayed hostile behavior, refusing to open her apartment door, hurling insults, and demanding that they depart.
Consequently, collaborative efforts were initiated with partner organizations, including law enforcement agencies. On that fateful day, it became evident that F.R. was under the influence of alcohol, which appeared to be an ongoing issue. Furthermore, the unsatisfactory sanitary conditions in her residence and the neglect suffered by the children under her care were brought to light.
Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, F.R. has been placed in a medical institution for treatment. Meanwhile, the children have been temporarily housed at the Juvenile Social Legal Assistance Center until their mother completes her rehabilitation and can safely resume her responsibilities within the family.
