Every year, the top 100 computer science teachers will be sent to countries advanced in artificial intelligence for professional training, similar to specialists from ministries and regional administrations. This was announced today, October 21, during a videoconference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the development of artificial intelligence technologies.

’’The development of artificial intelligence depends not only on modern infrastructure and algorithms but also on qualified personnel. The foundation of this field lies in mathematics and computer science. Therefore, training specialists should start from school,’’ the President emphasized.

Starting from the next academic year, topics related to artificial intelligence will be included in the school curriculum for the ’’Informatics’’ subject. To this end, a special textbook will be developed in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This year, 100 trainers in artificial intelligence will be trained at the New Uzbekistan University, and next year their number will reach 1,300. These trainers will then instruct informatics teachers in schools and universities through a cascade system. Each year, the top 100 computer science teachers will be sent to countries advanced in artificial intelligence for professional training, similar to qualified specialists from ministries and regional administrations.

As a logical continuation of the ’’One million Uzbek coders’’ initiative, a new project titled “One million AI leaders” has been launched. This year, 100,000 young people are expected to be trained, with at least 500,000 to follow next year. The importance of involving school students in the project was also highlighted. Additionally, a national competition in artificial intelligence will now be held annually. The top-performing young participants, their mentors, and educational institutions will receive awards: 500 young people will be gifted laptops, 100 teachers will each receive $1,000, and two educational institutions will be awarded electric vehicles.
