Governor's assistants can study based on a state grant

Governor's assistants who do not have a higher education may be admitted to the part-time education of the state higher education institutions in the areas of economic education based on the recommendation of the mayor based on a state grant.

The relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers has been submitted for discussion on the regulation.gov.uz portal.

According to the draft decision, the training expenses of the governor's assistants will be covered by the state budget, and they will only be required to pass an interview.

During the interview, each of the mayor's assistants will be asked a total of four questions, one on the following topics:

1. The nature and importance of comprehensive reforms implemented in the country;
2. The main purpose of choosing the specified undergraduate education course;
3. Achievements and results achieved during work activities corresponding to the specified bachelor's education field;
4. Availability of knowledge and professional skills in the specified field of undergraduate education.

Each question is allocated 25 points, and the maximum possible score is 100 points.

"According to the report approved by the interview committee, the applicant is considered to have passed the interview when the average of the points given by the participating members of the interview commission is higher than 55 points," says the draft decision.

The reason for the adoption of the draft decision is that there is a shortage of personnel with economic knowledge in the process of appointing the governor's assistants.

"The adoption of this project will provide higher education to assistant governors who do not have a higher education, who have been setting an example, will allow them to improve their work quality and further increase the quality of public services to the population and business entities." said in decision analysis.

The discussion of this decision is scheduled to continue until 19 November.

For information, since January 2022, a total of 9,309 assistant mayors have started working in neighborhoods.

Samarkand region has the largest number of assistant governors in the republic, their total number is 1120. Also, 1055 assistant governors were appointed in the Fergana region, and 1014 assistant governors in the Tashkent region.

In addition, the number of deputy governors in other regions is as follows:

424 people in the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
236 people in the Syrdarya region;
299 people in the Jizzakh region;
330 people in the Navoi region;
887 people in the Andijan region;
796 people in the Kashkadarya region;
780 people in the Namangan region;
721 people in the Surkhandarya region;
579 people in Tashkent city;
544 people in the Bukhara region;

There are 526 people in the Khorezm region.

Their salary is 5 million 343 thousand soms on average.

We remind you that starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, assistant governors who do not have higher education are invited to the economic education courses of state higher education institutions by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, governors of regions and Tashkent city.  On the recommendation of the President, the decision was made to introduce the practice of interview-based admission to correspondence education based on a state grant.
