The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has advised citizens to temporarily postpone planned pilgrimages, business trips, vacations and other foreign visits to the Middle East until the situation stabilizes.

According to the ministry, the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and temporary restrictions imposed by certain countries on the use of their airspace may lead to changes in international flight operations. This could result in flight cancellations or delays, the closure of transit routes and other logistical difficulties.

“In this regard, in order to ensure safety and protect their legitimate interests, citizens are advised to temporarily postpone pilgrimages, business trips, vacations and other travel to the Middle East until the situation stabilizes,” the statement said.

The ministry also recommended that Uzbek citizens currently abroad remain cautious and vigilant, avoid crowded places, strictly comply with local laws and regulations, and maintain regular contact with Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions and consular offices.

Citizens planning to travel abroad have been urged to regularly monitor updates published through official sources.

Earlier, several international flights were canceled due to the escalating situation in the Middle East and temporary restrictions on the use of airspace. For example, on March 2, a Tashkent–Jeddah flight carrying Umrah pilgrims, organized by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, was postponed for an unspecified period.
