An innovative project of significant importance to ecology and agriculture—rain-making technology—has been introduced in the Konimeh district of the Navoi region. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
The project aims to address persistent challenges in the region, such as low rainfall, drought, and water shortages, which have long hindered the development of livestock farming. To resolve this, a modern device capable of artificially generating precipitation has been deployed in the district for the first time.
According to the ministry, the device influences atmospheric processes, enabling the formation of clouds and the occurrence of rainfall.
“This technology is being used for the first time in Uzbekistan, and its main goal is to effectively combat drought and improve the condition of pastures. At the same time, this innovation will reduce dependence on natural water sources, contribute to ensuring food security, and create a foundation for increasing productivity in the livestock and agriculture sectors,” the statement said.
The project is being carried out in cooperation with the International Centre for Climate Change Technologies of Kazakhstan.
