Previously, we reported on an Uzbek migrant working as a cleaner in St. Petersburg, Russia, who heroically saved several women's lives during a fire. In response, the city's residents rallied together and collected 36,000 rubles for Olimjon Ibrohimov from Uzbekistan, as reported by "Gazeta.ru."

It's worth mentioning that the "Chernyy spisok Peter" group contributed 11,000 rubles, while an additional 25,000 rubles were gathered by residents of Kolomna, a historic district near the site of the fire.

On April 27, Sergey Overchuk, the head of the Admiralty district administration, presented Olimjon Ibrohimov with a painting as a token of gratitude.

A meeting also took place at the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg with Olimjon Ibrohimov. During the discussion, Ibrohimov recounted the details of the incident, explaining that on the morning of April 25, he discovered a fire in the 39th house during a routine inspection of his area and promptly alerted the fire department.

"Upon hearing the cries of residents trapped in the apartment, I rushed to their aid via the pipe, as the door was inaccessible. I nearly fell while climbing. We rescued four individuals trapped in the fire. One was evacuated through the pipe, while the others were brought down using fire engine ladders," recalled Olimjon Ibrohimov.

In displaying such heroism, he drew upon his military experience, having served in the Airborne Forces in Uzbekistan. Since 2017, he has resided in Russia with his family, including two adult daughters.

Olimjon Ibrohimov mentioned that this was his second instance of saving lives during a fire, having rescued a woman a year prior from a fire on Vareyskaya Street in northern Russia.

During the consulate meeting, Consulate General staff and diaspora activists expressed their gratitude to Olimjon Ibrohimov for his bravery, presenting him with souvenirs
