Reports emerged on social media stating that an elevator in "Yangi Darkhan" neighborhood in Tashkent lost power, trapping a young girl inside. The Yangihayat district administration promptly responded to the incident.

Officials including the district governor, emergency department, and industrial safety personnel conducted investigations into the matter. Upon clarification by industrial security personnel, it was determined that the elevator's generator activated when disconnected from the power supply, allowing the girl to safely descend to a lower floor.

According to an official statement, authorities spoke with the girl and her family, confirming her well-being and positive state of mind.

In a separate incident in July, a 32-year-old woman was tragically found dead in an elevator of a newly constructed building, drawing attention from international media outlets. Subsequently, a criminal case was initiated in response.

During the 43rd plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on August 4, Qutbiddin Burkhanov, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security Issues, highlighted the elevator-related challenges faced in multi-storey buildings across Uzbekistan.
