Social media circulated reports indicating that a garden in the Ohangaron district of the Tashkent region was engulfed in flames, resulting in the burning of approximately 1,500 trees. The Regional Department of Ecology promptly responded to the incident.

On March 25 of this year, R.S., a resident of Ohangaron district, "O'zbekistan" neighborhood, inadvertently ignited a blaze while burning reeds and hay collected on his farm. The fire subsequently spread to the protective zone along the Ohangaron River and unutilized land within the district reserve. 41 fruit trees, 11 walnut trees, 678 ornamental birch trees, and 8 poplar trees burned down. The ecological toll amounted to 459,657,000 soums in material damage.

Responding to the severity of the situation, the district prosecutor's office launched an investigation, leading to the initiation of a criminal case against citizen R.S. under part 1 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code.

Presently, the Investigative Department of the Ohangaron district DIA is conducting a preliminary investigation into the criminal case, under the oversight of the district prosecutor's office.

It's worth noting that in a separate incident, three individuals who cut down 22 ornamental trees in the Qorakol district of the Bukhara region were collectively fined over 171 million soums.
