Uzhydromet issues emergency warning

Uzhydromet has issued an emergency warning, stating that due to expected precipitation and fluctuations in air temperature from December 17 to 22, there is a high risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the avalanche risk is forecast in the following areas:
- Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shakhrisabz districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Baysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
- Samarkand region: Nurobod, Kushrabot, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
- Jizzakh region: Bakhmal, Zomin districts;
- Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, Ohangaron districts (Chatkal mountain range);
- Namangan region: Pop district.
Residents of mountainous areas, tourists, and drivers traveling through these regions are urged to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel in high-risk zones.
