Uzbek international freight drivers working in Russia are increasingly being added to the Russian Interior Ministry’s list of ’’individuals prohibited from entering the country.’’ This was reported by the Migration Agency.
According to the agency, as of 2025, nearly 25 percent of international road freight transport operations in Russia are carried out by Uzbek drivers. However, due to violations of migration regulations, many citizens have been placed on the Interior Ministry’s list of individuals banned from entry.
The Migration Agency emphasized that every truck driver must strictly adhere to the following rules:
- When crossing the border, the migration card must be filled out clearly and accurately, the purpose of entry should be indicated as ’’business’’ or ’’transit,’’ not ’’tourism.’’
- After entering Russia, the driver must register for migration within 15 working days (this is usually the responsibility of the receiving organization or employer).
- Drivers must constantly monitor the 90/365 rule, meaning they should not stay in the country for more than 90 days within a 365-day period.
- In case of a vehicle breakdown or any other force majeure situation, it is mandatory to obtain an official report or certificate documenting the incident.
’’Every action must be supported only by official documentation. Repeated violations may result in a ban on entering Russia for a period of 3 to 10 years,’’ the agency’s statement said.
It was stated that if a mistake has occurred, one should immediately submit a written request to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (GUVM MVD RF), provide documents proving the actual purpose of the trip, and, if placed on the list of ’’individuals prohibited from entry,’’ request removal from the list through an appeal. The Migration Agency also urged individuals facing such issues to contact the agency’s representative office in the Russian Federation.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Russian government announced that in 2026 it would reduce the quota for temporary residence permits for foreign citizens and stateless persons.
