With the assistance of Uzbekistan’s Consulate General, six underage children left without parental care in Saint Petersburg, Russia, have been brought back to Uzbekistan, the ’’Dunyo’’ information agency reported.
It was stated that a working group from Uzbekistan spent 10 days collecting all the necessary documents. The children, who had been left without parental care, were placed in social rehabilitation centers for minors and the ’’Transit’’ social shelter for children in Saint Petersburg.
One of the minors had been living apart from his mother for three years, residing with his father, who had unlawfully taken him away from her. The child’s family had been experiencing difficult social conditions that posed a threat to his life and health. Employees of the Consulate General and relevant organizations visited the child’s place of residence and took measures to return him to Uzbekistan.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan prepared the necessary documents for the repatriation of six neglected children. Diplomats accompanied them on a Saint Petersburg–Tashkent flight to ensure their safe return.
It is worth noting that earlier, an Uzbek citizen and his five children, stranded in difficult circumstances in Pakistan, were also repatriated to Uzbekistan.
