President briefed on military cooperation with Turkey

On April 23, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a report from Defense Minister Shuhrat Kholmukhamedov on ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation with Turkey, the presidential press service said.
According to the report, a senior representative of the Armed Forces of Turkey also attended the meeting.
The sides reviewed key issues related to further strengthening cooperation between the defense institutions of the two countries as part of the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
It was noted that military-technical cooperation continues to develop steadily, including the expansion of interagency ties, the organization of joint activities, and the training of military specialists.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening defense partnership.
Earlier, in January this year, a meeting was held in Ankara between the defense ministers of Turkey and Uzbekistan, Yasar Guler and Shuhrat Kholmukhamedov. Following the meeting, the two ministers signed agreements on cooperation in military medicine education between the governments of the two countries, as well as a plan for implementing military cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey and the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan for 2026.
