Mirziyoyev receives head of the World Swimming Federation

On April 29, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the President of the World Swimming Federation and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Hussein al-Musallam, as well as the First Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees, Sheikh Jawaher bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting was reported by the presidential press service.

Discussions focused on the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of sports, support for the Olympic movement, and the creation of conditions for the development of both professional and mass sports in Uzbekistan.

At the start of the meeting, Sheikh Jawaher bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed greetings and best wishes from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the President of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that practical cooperation with these leading international sports organizations has reached a high level.

Special attention was given to strengthening the partnership with the World Swimming Federation, including the implementation of training programs for sports specialists and the establishment of a modern and integrated infrastructure for aquatic sports in Uzbekistan.

The parties also discussed the possibility of hosting major international competitions in Uzbekistan, including the Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia and major events organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees.
