The text of the draft constitutional law was announced

The draft text of the Constitutional Law “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was announced.

In the draft constitutional law, it is planned to introduce 27 new articles into the current Constitution and increase the number of articles from 128 to 155.

We remind you that on 13 March of this year, a meeting of the Constitutional Court was held to determine the compliance of the decision of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.  The court decided that there were no objections to the referendum.

Yesterday, on 14 March, the thirty-eighth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.  Senators considered and unanimously approved the issue of holding a referendum on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”  The referendum on amending the constitution will be held on 30 April of this year.
