Some restrictions are imposed on state-owned enterprises

In accordance with the decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev « On further reforms to improve the business environment and create conditions for sustainable economic growth through the development of the private sector », from 1 July 2022, a single incentive policy will be introduced to countenance members of the supervisory board of state-owned enterprises and to pay members of the executive body.
In this case, any additional payments to members of the executive body, except for wages and annual bonuses, will be cancelled.
In cases not provided for in the decisions of the President and the Government, the following will be prohibited for State enterprises:
- acquisition or construction of new non-functional objects;
- engagement in prohibited activities in the competitive field;
- participation in the authorized capital of business companies in other fields or acquisition of shares.
Contracts for the purchase and sale of property and investment in another enterprise by State enterprises and banks with a 50% or more State share must be agreed with the enterprise’s supervisory board.
Annual sponsorship expenses of state-owned enterprises should not exceed 3% of previous year’s net profit.
