WC-2026: Uzbekistan will face its old rival in the qualifiers

The draw for the 2nd joint qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup competitions was held.
According to the draw, the national team of Uzbekistan took a place in group “E”. In the group, Srechko Katanets’ students will compete with the teams of Iran and Turkmenistan. The name of another team in the group will be known in the 1st qualifying round, that is, in the match between the national teams of Hong Kong and Bhutan.
The qualifying matches will be held on the Asian continent from October this year to November 2025.
The national team of Uzbekistan will play its first match in the group against Turkmenistan on November 16 of this year. On November 21, Iran will come to Uzbekistan.
