Liver transplantation will be performed in Uzbekistan

A memorandum was signed with Indian surgeons on establishing a liver transplant practice at the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center. This was reported by the Press Service under the Ministry of Health.
It is noted that this contract was concluded with the clinic of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad, India. According to it, it is planned to carry out the first liver transplant in three months.
"According to the signed memorandum, 6 Uzbek surgeons will be sent to India to work and study from March of the current year," - Davron Tulaganov, head of the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center said.
It was added that in the future it is planned to carry out a heart transplant along with liver transplantation in the science center.
