In Uzbekistan, where obesity is rampant, a nationwide movement on proper nutrition will begin

Today, 56% of the population of Uzbekistan is overweight, and 30% have chronic diseases.  Therefore, the nationwide movement “Proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle” will be launched in the country.

This was announced yesterday, 13 February, at a meeting with leaders responsible for social spheres with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In it, instructions were given to improve the quality of service by introducing advanced foreign experience to medical education, digitizing the system and establishing medical insurance.

The meeting also discussed tasks in the areas of quality of education and medicine, development of science and culture, and life of young people.

It is noted that starting from 2023, teaching students two foreign languages and one profession will be the highest priority of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

In addition, the activities of institutes and universities will be reformed, the training of qualified personnel, the integration of science and production will be expanded.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of developing theater, music and cinema, preserving the status and charity.  Tasks were set to improve the conditions for tourists by widely promoting the culture and natural habitats of the Uzbek people.
