The number of abortion cases in 5 years in Uzbekistan is disclosed

As of 1 January 2022, the number of cases of termination of pregnancy (abortions) among women aged 15-49 in Uzbekistan reached 35.4 thousand. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.
This index has decreased by 7,000 compared to 2017. From 2017-to 2021, 198.2 thousand fetuses were aborted in the country.
Number of abortions by years:
• 2017 - 42.4 thousand;
• 2018 - 44.1 thousand;
• 2019 - 39 thousand;
• 2020 - 37.3 thousand;
• 2021 - 35.4 thousand.
It should be noted that 203.7 thousand births were registered in Uzbekistan in January-March this year. In addition, 70,467 infants were born in May.
