Ziroat Mirziyoyeva brought fresh water to schools in Bukhara

First Lady of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the «Zamin» Foundation Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, visited schools in Romitan and Shofirkon districts of Bukhara region, and became acquainted with the results of the project «Water supply, sanitation and hygiene of general Education schools of Bukhara region» and met with students about the importance of water, sanitation, and hygiene for a healthy life.  This was reported by the international public foundation «Zamin».

It is noted that the guests led by Ziroat Mirziyoeva together with the students of «Zamin Eco-Education» held an action to plant trees to interest schoolchildren in the topic of ecology.  The «smart irrigation» system was demonstrated at the event.

Also during the visit schoolchildren were introduced to sensors measuring temperature and humidity.  Through this introduction, students were taught the importance of saving water.

Another 15 schools in the Bukhara region have been selected for the next phase of the project.  The project is implemented in cooperation with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), JSC «Ozsuvtaminot», Ministry of National Education.

For information, to date, 16 schools in the region have installed water supply from wells, filtration, and desalination systems up to the level of safe drinking water.  Internal and external engineering networks for water supply and sewerage, toilets, and showers have been built.  Systems for the biological treatment of wastewater up to the level of irrigation water have also been installed.

Earlier, Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, the youngest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, published a picture in which she is preparing norin together with her mother and husband Otabek Umarov.
